Born in West Germany in 1965, I am the daughter of a military family on all sides with three wonderful sisters. I went to school in Wales (not the best time of my life) and later at Tante Marie School of Cordon Bleu Cookery where I learned how to pack a thousand calories into a teaspoon of food. My ability to paint was not noted until my thirties, when living on a boat I "had a go". I would like to say it was stupendous from the word go, a late developing Mozart, but in reality it was awful!
With time though, and patience, and a lovely Adult Education tutor, I started to explore art and applied art more seriously. I discovered a passion. I discovered a way of passing long nights during Winter when I had no money, creating pictures, hearts, scarves, novelty birthday cakes – you name it I gave it a go – all things that kept my creative spirit alive.
Since then, a major Dream in my life has come true and I now live in Spain with my son. We began our Spanish adventure roosted high in the Sierra de Gudar mountains, close to Valencia – a truly breathtaking and inspiring beginning although freezing cold in the Winter! That location provided much fodder for new works which are in the process of being brought to my wider audience via the pages of this website.
Since our days in the North, we have been on some spectacular adventures, many plotted through our weblog, and are now exploring the treasures of Andalucía and all that this vast and fascinating region has to offer. I am already working on several commissions for local people who have seen my work while at the same time running a beautiful Bed and Breakfast and mentally setting out my next artistic adventure - a quirky retreat with panoramic Lake views over the vast lake Iznájar …. Watch this space!
